(1888-1985). Escritor norteamericano de semántica y sociología, natural de Somersworth (New Hampshire). Tras graduarse en la Universidad de Harvard, trabajó como Censor de Cuentas y posteriormente entró al servicio del Gobierno. Atacó el problema del despilfarro en Tour Money's Worth (1927), en colaboración con F. J. Schlink. The Tyranny of Words (1938), estudió sobre el lenguaje y comportamiento humanos, incluía en forma sencilla algunas ideas de semántica general (v. Semántica). También escribió Economy of Abundance (1934), Where’s the Money Corning From? (1934), Democracy Under Pressure (1944), Tomorrow’s Trade (1945), The Proper Study of Mankind (1948), The Power of Words (1954), también sobre semántica. Véase Korzybski, Alfred Habdank.
